My formal art education was at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City. It wasn't until the 1980's during my first trip to the Caribbean that I fell in love with the vibrant colors of the tropic and rediscovered my art with a new passion. During the 90's I moved to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands where I could paint in my studio overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
I am addicted to painting tropical landscapes and architecture. I love to paint the intense, vibrant colors of the tropics, the beauty of the sunlight, the shadows, and the color!
Tropical birds are another inspiration for me "because" of their captivating colors!
I also paint portraits, and that includes pets, in soft pastels.
I have experimented with a variety of mediums, but now work mostly in acrylics and soft pastels.
My body of work consists of tropical landscapes and architecture, portraits and pet portraits.
My art is currently on display at:
